Recently, the results of the 2025 ACM SIGCOMM China “Rising Star Award” and “Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award” have been officially announced. Prof. Qingkai Meng from our school has been awarded the 2025 ACM SIGCOMM China Rising Star Award. A total of three scholars nationwide received this honor this year, with Prof. Meng ranked first among the awardees.
ACM SIGCOMM China is the only official organization in China authorized by ACM SIGCOMM, established on May 13, 2016. Its mission is to promote the academic research level in the field of data communications in China, enhance the international influence of Chinese researchers in the data communication community, and foster the collaborative development of academia and industry.
To recognize the outstanding research achievements of young scholars and doctoral students in the fields of computer networking and communications, and to further promote the development of early-career researchers, the ACM China Council authorized the ACM SIGCOMM China Chapter to establish two annual awards in 2025: the “ACM SIGCOMM China Rising Star Award” and the “ACM SIGCOMM China Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award.” Each award is presented to no more than three recipients per year.
Awardee Profile

Qingkai Meng is an Assistant Professor (Ph.D. Advisor) at the School of Intelligent Software and Engineering, Nanjing University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in June 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Fengyuan Ren. From September 2019 to October 2020, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with Prof. Aditya Akella. His research interests include data center networks, transport protocols, and machine learning systems.His work has appeared at top system and networking venues such as ACM SIGCOMM, USENIX NSDI, and ACM ASPLOS. He actively contributes to the academic community by serving as a technical program committee member and reviewer for top-tier conferences and journals
